Reclaiming contested territory on your walks

Contested teal is a to-do list written on the map. You do not have to clear it. When you want to, keep it simple.

Attach reclaiming to real life

School run adjacent streets. Lunch loops. The evening circuit you already do. Extra mileage invented only for spite gets abandoned by Thursday.

Close loops

A reclaim plus one extra left turn often paints more than a spiteful out-and-back.

Safety and manners

Same rules as any walk: leads where needed, no trespass, no pavement rage. Read contested ground explained if the colours still confuse you.

When to let it go

If reclaiming means crossing a dual carriageway for three metres of pride, let someone else have the three metres.
